Former Women's Champion, Acting role on Dark Angel, Cover Girl for Divas 2001 Magazine
Lita began her career in wrestling a long time ago when she went to Mexico for 6 months to train to be
a wrestler, she would later get a call from ECW and before you knew it she was in ECW but just as a Valet.
She was
given the name Angelica, also known as Miss Congeniality, and she was the valet for Danny Doring. In July 1999 she appeared
on her first PPV being ECW Heatwave and after that she saw some small wrestling action in the ring before going back into
training.
She left ECW at the end of 1999 and was signed up by the WWF and was then sent to do some training before
her eventual debut. She debuted in February 2000 alongside Essa Rios, who won the Light Heavyweight Title on his first appearance.
She
would then stay with him for a few months before being attacked by him and saved by the Hardyz, she would then join the Hardyz
and form Team Xtreme which would be a powerful force until this very day.
She would then get good TV time and challenge
Stephanie for the Womens' Title but she lost on the first attempt but won the title on a second attempt, in-fact she defeated
Stephanie in the main event of a Raw is War which was historic as it was the first time a Women's Match had headlined a RAW.
Lita
would then go on to feud with Trish Stratus and this had many good wrestling and gimmick matches including a hot Bra and Panties
Match in September 2000.
She would then go on to feud with Jackie and encounter some horrible hardcore matches before
losing her title to Ivory.
In 2001 she would continue a feud with Dean Malenko which saw her defeat him and start her
first TV romance with none other than Matt Hardy. Lita would then wrestle the odd match before getting into a tag team feud
with Stacy and Torrie in the summer as part of the WCW Invasion, her partner was none of than Trish. The pair defeated Torrie
and Stacy at the Invasion PPV.
She would also become the cover girl for the Divas 2001 Magazine in April and would
also get her own Home Video/DVD in the Summer titled "It Just Feels Right".
Going into 2002 she wasn't on TV much due
to being taken out of action by the Undertaker previously, also her relationship with Matt was in tatters after a series of
bust-ups. All of that changed at the Royal Rumble when the trio returned and re-united to help Maven defeat the Undertaker.
They would then leave TV but return full time at No Way Out.
Following No Way Out Lita would begin a short fued with
Trish and Jazz which resulted in a match at WrestleMania. Jazz won the match but Lita bounced back on the following night's
RAW when she defeated Trish. Ivory and Jazz then came out and attacked the pair but Trish and Lita came out on top on the
following SmackDown and defeated them.
The big draft was soon to follow and Lita was actually one of the 10 picked
on RAW, she will now be apart of the RAW roster.
Lita is also featured in Divas 2002 and Divas Tropical Pleasure which
are all released in April. Also in April 2002 she got to film some scenes for the season finale of Dark Angel but something
bad happened, whilst performing a stunt she was dropped on her head and this would lead her to be out of action for the most
of 2002.
On the July 1 she made an appearance on RAW and wished Jeff Hardy goodluck for his upcoming WWE Undisputed
Title Match against the Undertaker. She would later become an announcer on WWE HeAT and would remain in that position whilst
she healed her injured neck. In the spring of 2003 she was ready to begin training and had to end her time on WWE HeAT and
the WWE did this by having Eric Bischoff fire her on an episode of RAW, she is now down in OVW, training and preparing for
her August return to the ring. She also has an autobiography due out in September.

Lita flew down to Mexico by herself. She didn't know anything
about wrestling schools or the business. She got to Mexico, booked a hotel, bought a newspaper and found out where the lucha
libre was located. Amy got by on a limited amount of money to her name. She used her high school level Spanish to get her
through conversations with people down in Mexico. That didn't stop her from making a name for herself while she was down there.
She kept showing up at the arenas every night. She was there for six weeks when they finally allowed her to do guest spots
on their shows. They also allowed Amy to do a managerial spot, but she really wanted to get into the ring. Her money was close
to running out, but since she had stuck it out and proved she was dedicated, they told her they would train her if she came
back. She went back to her home in the states and saved her money again before she once again headed back to Mexico.
Lita
spent three weeks in Mexico, where she learned to take bumps and perform manouvers in the ring. Once more, she ran out of
money and headed back to the states with more knowledge in the sport. She went to Chicago and trained at Steel Domain for
a week. She was running lower and lower on funds, but she was so hooked on wrestling by this time that money was a second
thought in her mind. She gained more training in the sport, after that was when Lita started working the indy scene.
While working with Mid-Atlantic NWA, she met the Hardy Boyz. She began talking with them, and they offered her to come down
and train with them. While working indies in North Carolina, she would go to the Hardy's on Sundays to train. Lita was
approached by Paul Heyman and she was offered a deal with ECW in early 1999. Heyman made it clear that he wanted Amy to perform
as a valet only. July 18, 1999, Amy, then known as Angelica, got her first pay-per-view exposure at ECW's Heat Wave. She aligned
forces with Danny Doring that night. Lita got involved with Jazz, another ECW female performer, but she was not satisfied
with her involvment in ECW. ECW star Rob Van Dam introduced Lita to Dory Funk and his wife. They started up a conversation
with Lita. Funk saw something he admired in Amy and offered her an invitation to go to his training camp.
At the camp, Lita
trained with 23 guys. Dory Funk treated her no different than the other guys, at Lita's request. Lita quickly gained respect
from the other guys at the camp and graduated from The Funking Conservatory in August 1999. September 19, 1999, Lita
made her final ECW Pay-Per-View appearance. She briefly brawled with Jazz at Anarchy Rulz. Dory Funk and his wife began compiling
old videos they had taken of Lita and sent it to WWE Talent Relations. The WWF thought Lita had talent and dedication
and later offered her a contract without even watching her in a try out match. Lita worked her first dark match with
Essa Rios (then known as Papi Chulo), landing a moonsault after Essa did one on his opponent. From then on Lita gained
the respect of her peers. Lita made her first WWF Pay-Per-View appearance with Essa Rios on April 30, 2000.
It wouldn't
be long before Essa would turn his back on Lita. She began costing him a couple of matches. Essa became enraged with Lita.
After a loss to a member of the Hardy Boyz, caused by Lita, Essa dragged her into the ring and belittled her in front of the
crowd. Essa powerbombed her then landing a high moonsalt causing Lita in pain then yelling at her. Matt and Jeff Hardy came
back down the ramp to her rescue and she began dressing like them in the following weeks. Matt and Jeff had not only found
a new manager, but a new friend. On August 31, 2000, after a feud with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsly, Lita won the Women's Championship
Title only to lose it to Ivory two months later.
Dean Malenko has had his eyes on Lita for the past few months. Asking
her out on dates, only to get turned down flat. Malenko then challenged Lita to a Light Heavyweight Title match with a small
stipulation added. If Dean won, Lita would have to go out on a date with him. At the end of the match, Malenko put the clover
leaf on Lita, getting the win and snagging himself a date with the red haired beauty. They went out to dinner and Dean thought
he was going to get more than just dessert. Lita went to a hotel room with him, where he was surprised by the Hardy Boyz who
beat him up and left him in the room. Dean is still pursuing Lita, while she insists that he is disgusting.
Lita has
the kind of dedication that is strong. Her personality is magnetic, in or out of the ring. One must admit that she has gone
beyond what other women have done for the world of wrestling. She is making a break through for many up and coming female
stars. Lita has already taken the WWE by storm, and one must feel that the weather isn't clearing up anytime soon.
Lita has returned to the WWE wrestling ring after a long 15 months
with an injury. She has already showcased a brand new move set, and in ring ability, Lita's heart is still in the game and
that is quite easy to tell. She released her very own autobiography "Lita: A Less Traveled ROAD - The Reality of Amy Dumas"
which has been a top seller all over the United States and in other areas. Lita has her sights set on the women's title
that the current holder Molly Holly carries over her shoulder every week, Lita has gotten one title shot since her return
however Molly cheated to spoil Lita's dream of once again becoming the WWE Women's Champion. With Jazz returning to
the ring Lita has quite a mix of girls who would like to take her down and out of their equations, the only thing now is for
the xtreme diva to follow the road to Wrestlemania XX and see what she can get out of it!
